Holding a class reunion party has never been so easy thanks to the emergence of online social networking websites such as Myspace and Facebook.

However, statistics have shown that the average attendance at a class reunion party is only 10 – 25%. This is probably due to nervousness and anxiety about facing former classmates and foes.

To have the highest attendance possible, you should follow these class reunion ideas, you will also be throwing a party your former classmates will remember forever.

1. There is a lot of pressure on anybody to throw a class reunion party. Why not recruit a former classmate who lives nearby to help with the organization? As you will see, there is lots to do so you may as well!

2. You should give as much time as possible, even up to a year to plan the event. Remember that people will be coming from all over the country to attend. They will have jobs and families which they need to plan around.

3. Rather than send out invites, I strongly suggest that you dedicate a website to your class reunion party. At the very least you should have a Facebook page. This way your guests will be able to see who else is attending!

4. Your website should have a form on so you can find out information like:

a. Do you have a vegetarian preference? You need to plan the meals after all!

b. Accommodation needed? If enough of your guests will be requiring accommodation then you could negotiate a group discount at a nearby hotel!

c. Extra? Would your guests wish to order a dvd of the event and pens, photos etc.

d. Photos! Have a space where your former classmates can upload a school photo.

e. Payment – Have a link to Paypal so that your former classmates can pay up front for the event.

5. Hire a professional photographer. These photos can be used for the dvd! I suggest you have a school and a present day photo of everybody for this!

6. Your music could be from the year of graduation. This will be very nostalgic!

7. Provide name tags for everyone to avoid the inevitable embarrassments!

8. This party has been a long time in the making. Make sure that the food is top notch. Hire a chef!
