Are you considering replacing floors in your LocalCity home? If you want to be eco-friendly you should take a close look at “green flooring”.
Flooring is considered “green” when it is made of easily sourced and renewable materials. As a rule flooring manufactured from petroleum-based materials is not considered green.
Many hardwood floor materials are not included as green materials because the originating trees are relatively scarce and the regrowth time for hardwood trees is often several decades.
This video presents a quick overview of different types of green flooring. These include wool carpeting, carpets made from recyclable nylon, stone, ceramic and porcelain, cork flooring, bamboo flooring. Linoleum and vinyl flooring are also included because they are long lasting and can be recycled.
